Explore Copenhagen by bike
Calm vibes, great tastes, friendly people. Copenhagen remains one of our favourite cities in Europe and also happens to be extremely bike-friendly (some say even friendlier than Amsterdam!).
While the city keeps evolving, with new spots being added, we parked our bike outside some of our current favourites across the city to eat, drink, shop, and hang out. Taking you from Vesterbro and Nørrebro to Refshaleøen and Frederiksberg, this Copenhagen City Guide offers a glimpse of what makes Copenhagen so great by bike.
Day 1 - Vesterbro and Nørrebro
We set off early, the city still waking up as we pedalled through the quiet backstreets. Our first stop was Orsa Coffee, a go-to for specialty coffee; there’s nothing like a strong espresso to sharpen the senses for the ride ahead.
Feeling caffeinated, we coasted over to TEKLA to browse their premium Danish towels and pyjamas, the kind of pieces that make you want to stay in bed, though the bike was calling. We filled our baskets at Andersen & Maillard, where the scent of sourdough bread and pastries is enough to make anyone stop in their tracks. Looking for a bit of solitude, we found ourselves at Bageriet B. It’s a beautifully quiet location, perfect for a slow break to watch the world cycle by. As the afternoon light began to dip, we rolled up to BRUS. A glass of craft beer and a relaxed dinner was the only way to toast to a successful first day on the saddle.

Day 2 - Frederiksberg and City Centre
The second day began with the elegant, tree-lined paths of Frederiksberg. We made a beeline for Hart Bageri; it’s one of the city’s most famous bakeries for a reason, and honestly, it’s worth every extra mile. Heading back towards the centre, we leaned our bikes outside Naked Copenhagen, a staple since 2004 for the best women’s sneakers. For lunch, we found a spot in the sun at JOJO. Their seasonal, local menu is a true favourite of ours whenever we’re in town.
As the pace of the day slowed, we tucked our bikes into a corner near Pixie, a small, intimate wine bar where the natural wine flows as easily as the conversation. We finished the evening at Delphine, a modern French bistro that practically begs you to stay for just one more course.

Day 3 - City and Refshaleøen
Our final day was all about the water. We started at Apollo Bar, enjoying the morning air in their beautiful courtyard. From there, it was a brisk ride to Storm Copenhagen x Pond, where we made a quick stop to admire the fashion over another excellent coffee.
Hungry for the home stretch, we cycled to Bæst for organic pizzas that taste like the very best of Denmark. Then came the highlight: the long, open stretch out to Reffen. This open-air street food market is best reached by bike, feeling the wind off the Baltic Sea.
We ended our journey at La Banchina. Simple food, cold water swims, and harbour views- the perfect, salt-aired ending to our Copenhagen story.
