How do I maintain my Tricycle?

A little maintenance goes a long way in keeping your Tricycle in good condition. Below are a few simple checks you can easily do yourself.

For optimal performance and safety, we also recommend a yearly check-up at a professional bike shop.

General checks

Before each ride, it’s a good idea to do a quick visual check of the frame, fork and handlebars. Make sure everything looks straight and undamaged. If you notice anything unusual around the front fork or dropouts, have it checked before riding.

Like all mechanical products, bikes experience normal wear over time. That’s part of regular use.
If you see visible damage such as cracks, deeper scratches or changes in colour on parts that take a lot of load, this may be a sign that the component needs attention or replacement. A professional bike shop can help assess this and advise on the safest next step.

Checking bolts and fittings

Make sure there are no loose parts on your bike. If you notice movement, tighten the bolts accordingly.
Pay extra attention to the seatpost and the front and rear wheel bolts, as these are key contact points while riding.

Tyre pressure and condition

Check your tyres regularly for cracks or worn spots to see if replacement is needed.

If you notice a wobble in the tyre, this often means the inner tube isn’t seated correctly. Let the air out, reposition the inner tube and inflate the tyre again. If you prefer, a local bike shop can help with this.

Rims and spokes

Inspect the wheels for loose or missing spokes. Spokes that are too loose or too tight can cause a wheel to wobble or, over time, lead to damage to the rim.
If you’re unsure, a bike shop can check and adjust the spoke tension for you.
