How to maximise your Veloretti Electric

How to optimise the lifespan of your Veloretti Electric battery

The Veloretti Electric is designed for the city. To ensure you benefit from your electric bike's maximum performance every day, keeping the battery in optimal condition is essential. Here are the essential guidelines for optimal battery management.

Temperature: Protecting your battery from the elements

One of the functional advantages of the Veloretti Electric is its removable battery. This is particularly important during the winter months. When temperatures drop below 10 °C, we advise bringing the battery indoors to charge at room temperature. Charging a freezing cold battery can permanently damage the cells. In the summer, the opposite applies: avoid prolonged parking in direct, intense sunlight to prevent overheating.

Battery longevity

Storage during prolonged absence

If you do not plan to use your electric bike for an extended period- for instance, when going on holiday- store the bike indoors and ensure the battery is charged to around 50% to 60%. Maintaining a stable, half-charge keeps the internal chemistry perfectly balanced.

Range versus lifespan

There is an important distinction between daily range and the overall lifespan of the battery. The efficiency of your motor is influenced by external factors such as tyre pressure, your selected assistance level, and your gear shifting habits. By keeping your tyres at the correct pressure and utilising the transmission efficiently, you reduce the strain on the motor. This minimises the number of charge cycles required, directly contributing to a longer total lifespan.

Conclusion: Effortless riding starts with proper maintenance

A Veloretti Electric is an investment in design, comfort, and urban freedom. By storing the battery at the correct temperature and avoiding extreme charge states (under 20% or prolonged periods at 100%), you get the absolute most out of your electric bike.

FAQ

Although the Battery Management System of the battery stops the charging process once the battery is full, we advise against leaving the battery connected to power unnecessarily. Prolonged maximum voltage on the cells can accelerate the aging process. Ideally, disconnect the battery from the charger once it is fully charged.

At low temperatures, the chemical reaction within the cells slows down, causing the battery to deliver energy less efficiently. This can noticeably reduce your range on colder days. However, this effect is entirely temporary: as temperatures rise, the full capacity restores. Tip: store and charge the battery indoors during winter to ensure you always set off with a well-conditioned battery.
